In November 2021, with the approval of the Ministry of Education of the People‘s Republic of China, Hengshui University and University ofCentral Missouri of the United States jointly organized aSino-foreign cooperative educationprogramfor the major of Mathematics andAppliedMathematics, which began to recruit students nationwide in 2022.
Thiscooperative educationprogram has received strong support from the Ministry of Education of China, the governments of Hebei Province and Hengshui City, and Hengshui University has also given full support to the program. We have mobilized the best teachers for the program, including maths, computer application technology, education, foreign languages and literature. All the teachers concerned with this program from well-known universities at home and abroad, with the title of professor and doctor's degree.
Hengshui University attaches great importance to this program, and establishes a certain working organization to promote its progress, allocates special funds to support the construction of the program,and to create a good learning and living environmentfor the teachers and students.
As the main body of the program, the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science of Hengshui University is one of the earliest department with a long history and great power in Hengshui University.In addition, there are 45 professors and 21 teachers with doctor degrees, and two key subjects of mathematics and computer application technology have been established. There are 7 majors in Mathematics and Applied Mathematics(teacher education),Applied Statistics, Computer Science and Technology, Internet of Things Engineering, Network Engineering, Intelligent Science and Technology, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (Sino-foreign cooperativeeducationprogram). Among them, Computer Science and Technology, Mathematics and Applied Mathematics are the first-class major construction points.In February 2022, the first batch of Academy of Artificial Intelligence and Modern Industry of Hebei led by the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science was officially approved, giving new impetus to the in-depth integration of mathematics professional talents training and computer application technology.

The Sino-foreign cooperativeeducationprogram for the major of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics introduces high-quality American teachers and integrates foreign educational concepts. The purpose is to foster the international application-oriented senior professionals who can use mathematical knowledge to build mathematical models and are skilled in the use of computer technology to solve practical problems. They are with high level English, strong adaptability, international vision and innovative thinking, the ability to engage in mathematical modeling, algorithm design and data analysis in the fields of finance, economy, education research,etc.
Thisprogram not only pays attention to the cultivation of students' professional knowledge, but also pays attention to arousing the students' interest and specialty, cultivating the students' comprehensive ability of socialization, innovation, application practice and English, and providing the broad international development space for the student individuality development.
The core courses of the major include mathematics major core courses, software program design courses, big data processing and analysis courses, machine learning and other intelligent computing- related courses, providing a theoretical basis for the students' development in multiple ways.China and the United States carry out joint teaching,andmore than 1 / 3 of the courses will be taught by the teachers of University of Central Missouri of the United States directly.The coursesarebilingual and allof theAmerican teachers teach theircourses in English.Hengshui University has developed a detailed training program for students to enhance their English proficiency, which provides a guarantee for students to continue their further studies.
It is a four-year academic system based on the Sino-foreign cooperative educationprogram for the major of Mathematics and Applied Mathematics.The students study at Hengshui University for the first three years, and those eligible can transfer to University of Central Missouri for further study in the last year.Those who pass the examinations will receive a Bachelor's degree from University of Central Missouri in the United States, the Undergraduate diploma and a Bachelor's degree from Hengshui University in China.The students who fail to study abroad in the last year will continue to study in Hengshui University. And those who pass the examinations will receive the Undergraduate diploma and a Bachelor's degree from Hengshui University in China.
After graduation, students can be employed in data analysis, data mining, data modeling, intelligent computing and other high-tech industries.After graduation, the students who have obtained a bachelor’s degree in the United States can directly apply for a master’s degree from University of Central Missouri and other universities in the United States to continue their studies.
